About Me
I am proud to say that I am a native Texan ... born & "reared" in Texas. I was born in San Antonio, Texas, but grew up in Baytown, a small town (at that time) near Houston, where I had a wonderful environment in which to grow up.
After high school (Robert E. Lee), I attended Lee College (Baytown) & the University of Texas at Austin where I obtained the following degrees: Associate of Arts degree, Bachelors degree in Management/Systems Engineering, & Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA). Between my degrees, I worked at the National Aeronautics & Space Administration (NASA).
After teaching briefly at the University of Texas in Austin, I began my business career in Houston with IBM during which I obtained a "CDP" (Certificate in Data Processing). Later, I became the owner of an outpatient medical testing business & spent many years working the long hours required to build a successful business. While I loved my work, I decided to sell the business after 25 years & retire so I could finally enjoy some time for myself.
I continue to live in Houston & spend my time reading, working on my computer, playing tennis & working out, watching a few sporting events, & traveling a bit.
I have a son, daughter-in-law & 2 fine grandsons who live in Charleston, SC.
